Catch 22

The only thing worse than being asked to interview someone in front of the entire company (that's right, can you believe that?) is to have it go so well that they ask you to do it "on a regular basis."

Oh really? That sounds uh, fun. Just because I did it once and didn't keel over from extreme fear & anxiety doesn't guarantee that it won't happen the next time. Anyone interested in placing bets?

I believe now is the time to move out of the country..or perhaps just hiding in the garage would do. Would sobbing and begging to get out of this be unprofessional?

Maybe you'd feel better if you just come stay in madison again for a few days?

Are we talking about interviewing someone for a job? Or interviewing a personality a la Terry Gross?

If the former: That's just weird.

If the latter: Maybe you can suggest that someone else might be better-suited and they should hire a part-time MC-type person to do it. But if that doesn't work, crying and puking will get you out of it for sure.

the latter, and thanks -- I think one good puke would do the trick. :)

I agree, crying, heaving, sweating, stuttering - all these should help end this torture! Awful!
