Minnesota Dung Beetle

On Saturday I just happened to be strolling along the Mississippi River, discussing all the important stuff with none other than the mighty Librarian, when I spotted a tiny something rolling across the sidewalk. I thought it was an ant hauling an oversize load, but as we crouched down, the Librarian identified it -- it's a wee Dung Beetle complete with wee dung ball. Fancy that!

Turns out that they have a very important job.

Just one of the many dazzling highlights (and educational moments) of whirlwind St. Paul Slumber Party '08!
