July 4th and a Rathbone Sour


Fourth of July BBQ at our house - Chef L'Erique on the grill. Bison Burgers, Hot Dogs (kosher and all beef that is) plus All-American potato salad and fruit salad (starring mango, yellow AND green kiwi and one organic watermelon.) The "angelcot" was not yet sacrificed. Tasty food, good friends and Chef L'E offered patriotic cocktails: the "Liberal" the "Liberty" followed up by the Floridita Daiquiri and (my favorite) the Rathbone Sour. Ingredients of the last: Muddled cucumber and Thai Basil, demerara sugar syrup, Plymouth Gin and fresh lemon juice. mmmmmmm.

Shake Shake Shake!



After our feast the brave hiked up Bernal Hill and caught the very end of the "official" fireworks. The remaining illegal display of explosions in the Mission District was entertaining. Go ahead USA, blow stuff up.
